Dr Carol Royal
BA MComm PhD
Dr Carol Royal (BA, M Com, PhD, UNSW) is the Director of the Masters of Technology Management and an academic at the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
Her research evaluates ASX publicly listed companies through Human Capital analysis and its links to corporate performance, Corporate Sustainability and Human Capital and Organisational Change Management Systems, Qualitative Research Methodology and Human Capital analysis in investment and financial markets Human Resource Management in Professional Services.
She is the Director and Principal of Research 7 Pty Ltd, a consultancy established to enhance the quality of intangibles analysis in the equity markets. She has advised Investment Management, Investment Banking and Stock broking industries in the International Equity Markets (UK, USA, Australia) on Human Capital Intangibles, Management Quality, Event Driven Change Management strategies and systems, and Socially Responsible Investment areas.
She has had eighteen years consulting in sustainable human capital and change management strategies for public and private sector organisations. Prior to her academic roles, Carol held senior line human resource management positions with the manufacturing and retail sectors.

Loretta O'Donnell
BA (Hons), Dip Ed, MBA (AGSM) AIMM

Loretta O'Donnell has been working in the field of human capital analysis for the financial markets for over five years. She and Carol Royal presented a paper to ASIC on the principles of human capital analysis in 2002, and since then, they have been researching, teaching and consulting in this emerging field. Clients include fund managers both in Australia and Europe.
Loretta is also currently teaching Executive MBA students and Masters of Commerce students at the Australian School of Business, UNSW. She was also awarded the status of Visiting Fellow to the Industrial Relations Research Centre, in recognition of her expertise in research in human capital analysis.
Loretta is adjunct faculty at the Australian Graduate School of Management in the University of NSW. She is a director of Research 7 Pty Ltd. As well as teaching and researching in sustainable human capital analysis and systems for managing change, Loretta consults in human capital analysis and
change management.
Her clients include: university faculties, outsourcing firms, professional services firms, construction and building products companies and private schools. Prior to her academic work, Loretta was with Barraclough & Co. in North Sydney and with the international change management division of Accenture in Sydney and Chicago.
Since 1991, Loretta has taught Executive MBA students and created course material for the Executive MBA program at AGSM. She has also lectured in corporate sustainability, human resource management and change management for the Masters of Commerce program at UNSW and has written course material in organisational sustainability for the Masters of Business Technology
degree course at UNSW.
Loretta has published a number of recognised works on management. In conjunction with Dr Carol Royal, she recently presented a paper at Oxford University on "A Knowledge Management Framework for Transparency on the Investment Process". Her doctorate, in process, is on human capital issues within the Australian biotechnology industry.
With Dr Carol Royal, Loretta was awarded Best Paper at the 2006 Knowledge Management in Asia Pacific Conference in Hong Kong.
